DESCRIPTION

Clean seams and finish miniature base rims

This 2022 redesign makes the working shape the reason to choose a dedicated mouldline remover. The longer, thinner nose is described as roughly half the size of the previous version, improving access and the view of small areas. The tapered front of the handle supports a pencil-like control grip, while the larger base gives another holding position for ordinary seam cleanup.

The notch behind the working nose has a separate purpose: smoothing the tapered edges of miniature bases. That is a practical distinction from a ceramic nub scraper or a plain #11 knife. You are choosing a scraping profile and a base-rim feature, rather than a slicing edge with disposable replacements.

Compare the TM-26 when a 45-degree tip better matches the detail, or the Army Painter knife when careful slicing and trimming are required. This reference supplies one remover. The description does not establish an interchangeable tip or a specific sharpening method, so do not assume it uses a craft-knife replacement blade.

What to check before choosing

Task match

Choose the notch for tapered base rims or the narrow nose for seams; a slicing knife serves a different motion.

Your questions about this product

What does the rear notch add?

It is designed to smooth the tapered edges of miniature bases, giving this remover a role beyond scraping a seam.

How does the handle support fine work?

The tapered front is described for a pencil-like control grip, while the chunkier base provides a different grip for regular cleanup.

When is a hobby knife the more useful alternative?

For actual slicing, trimming or carving with a replaceable edge, compare the Army Painter TL5034. This is a dedicated mouldline scraper.
