Choose a Manual Holder, Punch or Layout Tool for the Operation

Separate a drilled hole, a flat-bottom recess, a detached disc and a guided circular outline; then match the working accessory’s shank to the actual holder.

Start with the result you need

Drilling a hole, flattening its bottom, cutting a small disc and marking an outline are different operations. GodHand’sSpinBlade is described for flattening a matching previously drilled hole bottom and small chisel work. It should not be chosen solely because the Amazon text broadly mentions making round holes.

Tamiya 74122 produces2 mm and 3 mm circular pieces from masking material or plastic plate within its0.5 mm limit. The MT-C offers adjustable paper-circle diameters instead. Tamiya 74150 is a stencil for an outline left on an intact model surface, not a disc-cutting package.

Match the holder to the accessory shank

A working diameter does not always equal the part held by the tool. The SpinBlade widths run from1 to 3 mm, but the exact maker page gives a common3 mm shank. Check that receiving diameter rather than choosing a collet by the small working width alone.

Tamiya 74112 is a holder with a bearing-ended rotating grip and a 0.1–3.2 mm advertised range. Golden Maple supplies its own1.6–2.5 mm bit assortment; the wider0.5–3.2 mm holding-accessory range does not mean bits throughout that range are included. QWORK lists a 0.6–6 mm three-jaw holder with supplied bits ending at 5 mm.

Keep the material instruction with the exact tool

QWORK names wood, resin, PVC, acrylic and plastic while excluding hard materials such as metal, glass and stone. The GodHand GH-DB-8D bit set is described for plastic and directs rotating without pushing, using only the bit’s own weight. Do not transfer one tool’s material list or feed instruction to every accessory in the department.

For circles, the MT-C full description clearly limits paper to less than 0.4 mm; its plastic-sheet permissions need a separate confirmation. Tamiya 74122 gives an explicit plastic-plate limit. The 74150 stencil uses0.1 mm stainless sheets described as bendable against convex surfaces, such as a fuselage, which is a guide-conformity feature rather than a cutting-capacity number.

Questions before choosing

Will the holder range tell me which bits are supplied?

No. Compare the separately itemized bit assortment. A holder accepting6 mm does not establish an included6 mm drill bit.

Why does the SpinBlade shank need a separate check?

The maker gives a common3 mm shank for the different working widths. The width at the cutting end does not establish a 1 mm receiving shank.

When should I choose a stencil rather than a punch?

Choose a stencil to guide an outline on the surface. Choose a punch when you need the small circular piece cut free, within that punch’s stated material limit.
